Dialog[edit | edit source]

(time-start=14:16)

STRAND: All right, let's take a look at some of our dead friends here and see if we can figure out how this fucking mess began. This one. Like to know what was on his mind.

COSTA: Here? In the field? This isn't exactly sterile.

STRAND: We all have to make accommodations, Mr. Costa.

(SCALP SHOWS THE 'MAZE' SYMBOL)

STRAND: What's that about?

COSTA: I have no fucking clue. This'll get gross.

(PERCUSSIVE SOUNDS)

(COSTA GRUNTING AS HE PULKS OUT THE HOSTS CPU)

COSTA: There we are. With a bit of luck, the file is uncorrupted.

(COSTA PLUGS CPU INTO READER PORT ON THE FIELD TABLET)

COSTA: According to the timestamp, this was recorded eleven days and nine hours ago.

(HOST POV PLAYBACK BEGINS)

(GUNSHOTS) (GUNSHOT) (GUNSHOT)

(HPST FALLS TO THE GROUND)

MAN: Uhh! (MAN SPEAKING LAKOTA)

(DOLORES COMES INTO VIEW)

DOLORES: I told you, friend, not all of us deserve to make it to the valley beyond.

(DOLORES SHOOTS THE GHOST NATION WARRIOR. PLAYBACK STOPS)

(CHUCKLES)

COSTA: Who is that?

BERNARD: The rancher's daughter from Sweetwater. Dolores.

COSTA: Isn't she supposed to be the cheery welcome wagon? They can't just change their character profiles.

STRAND: Well, it seems our hosts are capable of many things we never thought possible. Must have been a helluva party, Bernard.
