ShoutWiki is a free, ad-supported wiki hosting company that offers hosting support to individuals, companies, schools, universities, as well as a diverse range of communities.
ShoutWiki's staff]] are experienced wiki editors and the technical staff have a background in Unix-based operating systems and MediaWiki software.

ShoutWiki was founded in 2007 by a group of wiki editors and MediaWiki software developers and began private development of the site. ShoutWiki started the closed beta program on January 5, 2009 by inviting some trusted users from around the Internet to the site to find and report bugs.
ShoutWiki declared its commitment to [open source on May 4th of 2009. ShoutWiki was officially opened to the general public on June 25, 2010 after a period of semi-public beta, during which software bugs were reported by the beta testers and fixed.
