A battlesword, or great sword, is a large, two-handed sword. Most battleswords have broad, straight blades usually between 120 cm (48 in) and 150 cm (60 in) in length, but there are regional variations. While technically a type of long sword, battleswords have a longer hilt are specifically designed so the weapon is wielded with both hands. Typically the blade is longer than either the arming sword or bastard swords. They are chivalric weapons and somewhat uncommon.
