A Akarata or the “Fighting Order Grandmaster” is the commander in chief of a Agrikan fighting order. Although not a priest, an Akarata has far more command of rituals than do most laymen. The Akarata deals with the Senesharil (the clerical grandmaster) and organizes his or hers command in any manner he or she sees fit and may be assisted by a number of Tenakas (deputies). If the order wishes to ingratiate itself with local government, it may appoint the king (etc.) to hold the office. In such cases, he would be invited to preside over certain ceremonies, but the running of the order would be done by a deputy. The Akarata is is usually appointed by the clerical grandmaster, on the “advice” of the ranking officers.
